RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Manhattan men's track and field team finished up competing at the Monmouth Invitational and the Rutgers Open on Saturday.
The men recorded wins in the 800m, mile, and the 3000m.
Marc Carrera won the 800m in a time of 1:57.48. It was Carrera's second win this season in the distance.
Pelle Nogueira won the mile with a 4:22.11. The time is a personal-best for the graduate student.
Michael Hennelly took top honors in the 3000m for the Jaspers. The senior was almost three seconds clear of the field with an 8:45.33.
The Jaspers also got strong finishes from Brian Saul in the 60m dash with a fourth-place showing. Dominick Boccia was also fourth, in the 3000m.
Liam Farrell (3000m) and
Kaya Simpson (60m hurdles) also recorded top seven finishes.
At the Rutgers Open on Saturday,
Anu Awonusi finished fourth in the shot put championship section with a best of 16.87m.
Peter Athanailos was 13
th in the college division of the shot put.
The Jaspers return to action next weekend at the MAAC Championships at The Armory on Feb. 19 and 20.
