BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Manhattan men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed Friday's third day of the 2022 MAAC Championships.
Friday saw a new school record be established in the women's 200y freestyle and men's 100y breaststroke.
Mackenzie Tuttle qualified for the finals in the 200y free in a school-record time of 1:54.71. In the finals, Tuttle swam a 1:55.87 to finish in eighth for the Jaspers and pick up 11 points.
Joe Brennan touched the wall in 56.11 seconds to set the new school record in the 100y breaststroke. Brennan clocked that time in the prelims on Friday. The freshman recorded a 56.33 to finish seventh and grab 12 points for Manhattan in the finals.
The Jaspers swam the 400y medley relay on Friday. The women, with a team made up of
Kyla Guilfoil,
Katelyn Hall,
Teddy Segmuller, and Tuttle, finished ninth in a time of 4:05.06. The time is a season-best by a Jasper team by over three seconds.
Andrew Lebak,
Joe Brennan,
Jack Martin, and
Michael Popescu finished in eighth in the men's relay. The quartet stopped the clock in 3:33.36, which is over six seconds faster than the previous best by Manhattan this season.
On the diving side of the championships,
Lexington Passamonte competed in the b-final of the women's 3m. The senior finished 13
th and scored four points for the Jaspers.
Overall, the women are in ninth place with 87 points. The men are also in ninth on 94 points.
The final day of competition at the 2022 MAAC Championships starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday with the prelims, followed by the finals at 3 p.m.
