EAST MEADOW, N.Y. – Manhattan women's swimming and diving team secured 12th at the ECAC Championships.

In the preliminaries on Sunday, Kyla Guilfoil and Shayna Millard qualified for the 200-yard backstroke by swimming with times of 2:13.94 and 2:17.31. In the preliminary 100-yard freestyle Abbey Mink, Mackenzie Tuttle, Sophia Leber, Kate Maio, and Jessica O'Brien all qualified for Manhattan. Mink had the best time in 53.64.

In the 200-yard breaststroke, Grace Dillon and Natalia Velez Serrano again qualified for the Jaspers with prelim times of 2:53.25 and 2:54.23. In the 220-yard butterfly, Eva Canning and Juliana Saric qualified for the Jaspers with prelim times of 2:25.55 and 2:33.64.

For relay events, the women placed 12th and 24th in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The first team consisted of Guilfoil, Millard, Tuttle, and Mink, with a final time of 3:35.04, scoring Manhattan 28 points. The second team was made up of O'Brien, Maio, Canning, and Leber. In the 200-yard medley relay, the women placed 18th. Guilfoil, Tuttle, Mink, and Millard represented Manhattan.
 
Mink placed 18th in the 100-yard freestyle for individual races with a finals time of 53.26, .01 seconds behind 17th. Mink also placed 14th in the 100-yard butterfly with a final time of 58.01. In the 200-yard backstroke.

Over the weekend, Guilfoil and Mink both broke school and personal records. Guilfoil broke her own and set a new school record for the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 27.84. Mink broke the school's 50-yard freestyle record with a time of 24.70. She also broke her own 50-yard butterfly record with a time of 26.35, which also broke the school's record for the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 57.54.
 
The Jaspers race again Saturday, December 10, against Saint Peter's University in Jersey City, N.J.
