Jaspers Finish Second Day at The ECAC Winter Championships

EAST MEADOW, N.Y. – Manhattan women's swimming and diving team finished eighth on the second day of the ECAC Championships.

Abbey Mink, Eva Canning, Sophia Leber, and Juliana Saric qualified in the 100-yard butterfly in the preliminaries. Mink had the quickest time of 57.54. In the preliminary 200-yard freestyle, Shayana Millard, Eva Canning, and Kate Maio finished within the prelim time. Both Natalia Velez-Serrano and Grace Dillon qualified for the 100-yard breaststroke. Kyla Guilfoil and Mackenzie Tuttle both qualified for the 100-yard backstroke. Guilfoil had the best time with a 1:00.04.
 
For the relay events, the women placed 18th and 24th in the 200-yard medley relay. The first team consisted of Guilfoil, Tuttle, Mink, and Millard, with a final time of 1:50.87, earning the Jaspers 14 points. Canning, Dillon Saric, and Jessica O'Brien made up the second team, who had a final time of 2:01.48, scoring Manhattan 2 points.
 
Mink placed 14th in the 100-yard butterfly for individual races with a final time of 58.01, only .09 seconds behind 13th.
 
The Jaspers race again tomorrow, December 4, at the ECAC Winter Championships in East Meadow, N.Y.
