RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Dee Dee Davis etched her name in the record books Thursday afternoon in Draddy Gym, recording the first triple-double since 1994, posting 13 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists as the Jaspers defeated LIU, 73-47.

The last triple-double in program history belongs to Gina Somma, who logged 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 steals.

Manhattan improves to 4-7 overall while LIU drops to 2-10.

At halftime, Davis had four points, seven rebounds and six assists. By the end of the third, the triple-double watch was in full-effect. She was up to 12 points, nine rebounds and six assists by the end of the third quarter.

"She (Dee Dee) has been someone that we have been able to build around," said head coach Heather Vulin of Dee Dee. "She has elevated us from a team that people would think ok we are going to walk in here and get a win to now they know it's a matchup. She's been outstanding, and her consistency in terms of staying healthy, being productive, she's just been a warrior for us."

"I've been here for five years, I'm just really happy to be playing basketball," added Davis after the game. "I get to play with my best friends. I feel great, not because of the stats, but because I get to play the sport that I love with the women that I love so I'm just really grateful."

In the first quarter, the Jaspers came out firing, going on a 14-2 run to open the game. During that stretch, Petra Juric and Bella Nascimento contributed four, Brazil Harvey-Carr, Emily LaPointe and Leyla Ozturk provided two. The Green and White took a 14-10 lead into the second quarter.

In the second quarter, the Jasper defense suffocated the Sharks' offense, only yielding one point in the 10 minutes. The Sharks went 0-9 from the field, committed nine turnovers, eight of which were steals by the Jaspers, and were out-rebounded 15-5. Six different Jaspers scored during the quarter to send the Jaspers into halftime with a 36-11 lead.

In the third quarter, the Jaspers went on a 10-5 run early in the quarter, a run in which Davis provided eight of the 10 points.

The first offensive possession of the fourth quarter was opened with an and-one by Jade Blagrove off a feed down low from Nascimento, making the score 58-31. Davis finished the triple-double with under a minute left in the game. In the fast-break, Davis found Narrie Dodson on the fast break who finished through contact for and-one.

The Jaspers got contributions from multiple players this afternoon. Narrie Dodson posted a career-high in the points column, pouring in 13 points on 6-9 from the field in addition to securing seven rebounds in 19 minutes. Ozturk chipped in a season-high 11 points, four rebounds and two assists.

Manhattan returns to action in Draddy Gym for a pair of games with the duo of schools from Buffalo, with Canisius coming to Riverdale on Dec. 29th and Niagara on the 31st.
