EAST MEADOW, N.Y. – Manhattan women's swimming and diving team placed 10th on the first day of the ECAC Championships.
In the preliminaries,
Abbey Mink,
Mackenzie Tuttle,
Kyla Guilfoil,
Shayna Millard,
Eva Canning,
Sophia Leber,
Jessica O'Brien,
Juliana Saric,
Kate Maio,
Grace Dillon, and Natalia Velez-Serrano all placed in the 50-yard freestyle. Mink ranked the highest with a time of 24.70.
For team events, the women placed eighth and 25th in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The first team consisted of
Teddy Segmuller, Mink, Guilfoil, and Tuttle with a final time of 1:36.90, only 0.06 seconds behind seventh, scoring Manhattan 44 points. The second team consisted of Millard, O'Brien, Canning, and Leber with a final time of 1:46.15. The women also placed 20th and 27th in the 400-yard medley relay. The 20th-place team was made up by Guilfoil, Tuttle, Mink, and Millard. They had a final time of 4:05.513, scoring the Jaspers 10 points. The 27th-place team consisted of Canning, Velez-Serrano, and Leber. They swam with to time of 4:35.26.
The Jaspers race again tomorrow, December 3, at the ECAC Winter Championships in East Meadow, N.Y.
