UNION, N.J. – Manhattan women's swimming and diving team placed fourth in the second day of the Cougar Invitational with a final score of 151 on Saturday.
For individual races, Abbey Mink came in second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 59.83. Kayla Guilfoil placed third in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.92, 2.29 seconds behind second place.
For group races, the Jaspers placed fifth in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:59.85. Guilfoil, Mink, Sophia Leber, and Jessica O'Brien made up the team for the Jaspers.
In the evening set of events, two Jaspers swam in the 200-yard backstroke. Guilfoil finished in second, clocking in a time of 2:17.06.
A large group of Jaspers swam in the 100-yard freestyle. Leber paced the Jasper contingent, finishing in 1:01.27, which was good for 14th. Eva Canning and Kate Maio finished back to back with times of 1:01.85 and 1:01.87.
Two members of the Green and White swam in the 200-yard backstroke. Grace Dillon and Natalia Vélez-Serrano completed the event in 2:56.67 and 2:57.18 respectively. Canning and Juliana Saric swam in the 200-yard butterfly, with Canning finishing in 2:26.69 and Saric finished in 2:38.28.
Manhattan swims again on Friday, Dec. 2, at the ECAC Championships in East Meadow, N.Y.
