LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – In a hard-fought 90-minute battle, Manhattan and Siena battled to a scoreless draw Saturday afternoon in MAAC action.
The Jaspers record moved to an even 3-3-3 while the Saints go to 5-3-2. Today's match was the first scoreless draw in MAAC play for any team.
This afternoon's match was a defensive showdown, with 16 shots between the two teams. The Jaspers ripped seven while the Saints accounted for the other nine. Of the seven Jasper shots, four were on target.
Reigning MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
Nassim Akki was responsible for two on-target shots, while
Dorian Bounab and
Anthony Denis accounted for one apiece.
Danny DiMarco has not conceded a goal in his last three appearances in the net, with the last opponent to get a shot by him being Columbia on Sept. 9. In that span, the Sparta, N.J. native has stopped eight shots, with three coming this afternoon.
MAAC play continues next week, with the Jaspers returning to Gaelic Park for a meeting with Fairfield on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 6 p.m.
