JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Manhattan men's basketball team fell 77-51 on Friday night in Jersey City to Saint Peter's.
Saint Peter's (9-7, 7-2 MAAC) shot over 50-percent from the field and controlled the backboards. In the first half, Manhattan (10-7, 3-5) shot 48-percent from the floor but could not keep the offense going in the second half.
Saint Peter's used an 11-0 run over 2:06 in the first half to build a 33-14 with 8:10 to play in the opening half. The lead would grow to as many as 24 in the opening half for the Peacocks.
Manhattan opened the half with four straight points to make it 45-30 with 17 minutes to play.
Ant Nelson hit a left-handed pull-up from the edge of the lane to make it a 15-point game.
Nelson finished the night with 11 points, which led the Jaspers.
The Peacocks built the lead out to as many as 30, 74-44, with 4:22 to play in the game.
Samba Diallo and
Warren Williams each had 10 for Manhattan.
Jaylen Murray had a game-high 14 points to pace the Peacocks.
