Jersey City, NJ - Fueled by a dominating performance in the shot put, the Manhattan women won the Peacock Outdoor Invitational while the men finished second.
* The women won three events en route to winning the nine-team event with 49 points.
* In the aforementioned shot put event, senior Alexandra Preckajlo (Ocean, NJ / St. Rose) won the shot put for the second time this year with a toss of 13.36 meters, and was closely followed by classmate Lasma Padedze (Ogre, Latvia / Ogre Secondary School No. 1) in second place with a throw of 13.25 meters and junior Nina Bjorkman (Vasteras, Sweden / Widenska Idrottsgymnasium) in third with a mark of 12.80 meters.
* Sophomore Nicola Scaglione (Oceanside, NY / Oceanside) won the 1500 meters in 4:55.69, while senior Zarah Harris (Montgomery, NY / Valley Central) took the 400-meter title with a mark of 1:00.54.
* On the men's side, the Jaspers won a pair of events en route to placing second out of nine teams with 38 points.
* Alexander (A.J.) Moore (Colonia, NJ / John F. Kennedy) claimed the 400 meter dash thanks to crossing the line with a mark of 50.36 in giving the Green & White, with sophomore Noah Jefferson (Ossining, NY / Ossining) taking third in 50.54 and classmate Quemarii Williams (Danville, IL / Danville) fourth with a time of 50.61.
* In the 1500 meters, junior Ryan Tierney (Staten Island, NY / St. Peter's) was victorious in 4:09.06, while sophomore Kaya Simpson (Edgewood, MD / Harwood Technical) was fifth in the 400-meter hurdles (59.52) in rounding out scorers for Manhattan.
* The Jaspers will next be in action at Icahn Stadium for the Metropolitan Outdoor Championships on Friday, April 9 and Saturday, April 10.
