Riverdale, NY - With first place in the MAAC on the line, senior Jake Nicolosi's (West Islip, NY / West Islip) goal with 18 seconds to play in the second overtime propelled Manhattan to a thrilling 9-8 win over Monmouth at Gaelic Park.
* The Jaspers move to 3-1 on the year and 3-0 in the league, while the Hawks are now 3-1 and 2-1 in the MAAC.
* Junior Liam Walshe (Commack, NY / Commack) scored a career-high four goals, while senior Sean MacKinney (Martinsville, NJ / Bridgewater-Raritan) and sophomore Kyle Gucwa (Pottstown, PA / Bishop Shanahan) each found the back of the net twice.
* Graduate student Luke Hanson (Middletown, NY / Minisink Valley) had four assists, and set up Walshe on three-straight goals to cap a 4-0 Green & White spurt while giving Manhattan a three-goal lead early in the second quarter.
* Monmouth would answer with three-straight scores to tie it up at 4-4 midway through the third period.
* Walshe countered the Hawk run with his fourth score, while setting the stages for a thrilling finish.
* Monmouth tied the match with 11 seconds to go in regulation, and after each team came up empty in the first extra session, Nicolosi scored off a Trevor Pelletier (Sr., Miami, FL / Gulliver Prep) pass to end the game.
* Senior Brendan Krebs (East Williston, NY / Chaminade) notched numerous big saves throughout the night en route to registering 11 saves, including one huge one with the shot clock expiring late in the second overtime that set the stage for Nicolosi's game winner.
* Manhattan was 23-for-24 on clears, and Monmouth 16-for-17.
* The Jaspers forced 23 turnovers, while committing just 13 miscues.
