Frankfort, KY -
Sophomore Emily LaPointe (Staten Island, NY / Staten Island Academy) scored the final six Manhattan points, highlighted by converting a three-point play with 2:17 to play, in leading the Jaspers to a 56-51 win over Loyola Chicago in the 2021 Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI).

With the victory, Manhattan will next play the winner of the Abilene Christian and FIU tomorrow in the WBI Consolation Championship game at 2:30 pm.

The Jaspers improve to 11-8 with the win, while the Ramblers fall to 11-15.

LaPointe scored eight of her team-leading 11 points in the decisive fourth quarter to help Manhattan stave off a late Loyola Chicago comeback effort.
After the Ramblers made it a one-possession game, the Staten Island native converted the aforementioned three-point play that gave the Jaspers what would prove to be an insurmountable 54-48 advantage, before hitting a pair from the line for good measure.
