Lake Buena Vista, FL - The Manhattan men's cross country team took fourth place in the MAAC Championships with four runners appearing in the top 40 and two making the top 20. The women's team came in tenth place in the conference.
*In the men's 8K, Pelle Nogueira was the top Manhattan runner securing 16th place with a time of 25:31.5. Ryan Tierney finished right behind Nogueira earning 17th place and a time of 25:32.9.
*Liam Farrell and Michael Hennelly were the next two Manhattan finishers taking home 24th and 30th place respectively.
*Nicola Scaglione was the top Manhattan women's runner in the 6K event placing 80th with a mark of 24:30.3. Rory Graham finished just behind her classmate registering 81st place with a time of 24:30.6.
*Nine of the top 10 runners on the men's side were from Iona as Jamie Dee solidified himself as the fastest in the MAAC with a time of 24:36.9. The Gaels took first place convincingly with a grand total of 17 points while Monmouth captured second place with a final tally of 78 points.
*Sophie Murphy of Iona claimed first place in the women's field with a time of 20:58.7. Iona came in first place with a score of 36 points while Siena and Quinnipiac procured second and third place respectively.
*Up next on the calendar for the Jaspers is the NCAA New England Regional Championship on Friday, November 12 in Boston.
