New Rochelle, NY - UAlbany posted an 8-2 win over Manhattan in the series finale between the teams at City Park.
The Great Danes improve to 7-5, while the Jaspers fall to 3-9.
UAlbany opened the scoring with four runs in the first inning, before extending its advantage out to 5-0 with a single score in the fourth.
Manhattan got one run back in the fourth as junior Will Trochiano (Morganville, NJ / Marlboro) led off with a walk, before scoring on sophomore Sam Franco's (Bardonia, NY / Clarkstown South) double to left field.
The Jaspers would threaten again in the bottom of the fifth, loading up the bases on freshman Michael Campbell's (Larchmont, NY / Mamaroneck) first collegiate hit and a pair of hit batsmen. Unfortunately, LHP Kenny McLean left them loaded by inducing an inning-ending strikeout.
UAlbany would tack on three runs in the ninth, before sophomore Lewi Clarke (Saratoga Springs, NY / Saratoga Springs) crossed the plate to provide the final 8-2 count.
Franco paced the offense, going 2-for-4 with a double and a RBI.
Freshman RHP Justin Solimine (Danbury, CT / Danbury) was solid in relief, yielding just one run and one hit over a career-high 6.0 innings, while sophomore RHP Jeff Long (Orangeburg, NY / Bergen Catholic (NJ)) registered 2.0 scoreless innings of one-hit ball.
Dolan Ocasal was 2-for-3 with two runs and two walks to lead the way for the visitors on offense, while McLean (3-0) struck out four over 3.1 innings of two-hit ball.
Manhattan will play at CCSU on Tuesday, March 10 with opening pitch slated for 3:00 pm.
