Lawrenceville, NJ - Manhattan dropped a 71-59 decision to Rider in MAAC action at Alumni Gymnasium.
In defeat, sophomore Tykei Greene (Queens, NY / Long Island Lutheran) scored a team-high 15 points, while classmate Christian Hinckson (Queens, NY / Tilton School (NH)) added a season-high matching 14 points to lead the way for the Jaspers.
Early in the second half, the Broncs broke open a close game with a 12-1 run in building a 49-34 lead with 12:43 remaining.
Rider's lead would grow to a game-high 23 thanks to shooting a blistering 56.0 percent (14-of-25) from the field after halftime.
The Broncs improve to 18-12 and 12-8 in the MAAC, while the Jaspers fall to 12-16 and 8-11 in the league.
In the first half, Rider led 23-12 with 6:00 until halftime, when the visitors went to work with a half-ending 16-6 spurt that made it a one-point game at the break.
Fueling the run was a three pointer from sophomore Samir Stewart (Fort Lauderdale, FL / American Heritage) and back-to-back triples from Hinckson. Hinckson would add two more jumpers, before Greene split a pair from the line and hit a layup to trim Rider's advantage to 29-28 at intermission.
Dimencio Vaughn paced four double-digit scorers with 20 points.
Hinckson added a team-best six rebounds, while senior Pauly Paulicap (Elmont, NY / Harcum College) had seven points, five rebounds and three blocks.
Manhattan will next host Fairfield on Friday, March 6 at 7:00 pm, with Senior Night festivities to be held prior to the game.
