Valentine, Passamonte Reach Finals on Day 3

Buffalo, NY – Senior Timothy Valentine (Massapequa, NY/ Chaminade) continued his historic Jasper career on Day Three of the MAAC Championships. Valentine made the "B" final in the 100 breaststroke for the second straight year and won the "B" final for the second straight year, finishing ninth overall.

Valentine touched the wall in a blistering with a time 56.74, earning nine points for the Jaspers.

The men's team closed the day strong in the 400 freestyle medley relay, as the team of Valentine, juniors Derek Lederer (Blauvelt, NY / Tappan Zee) and Charles Ledda (New Fairfield, CT / New Fairfield) and sophomore Kyle Bergin (Lynbrook, NY / Lynbrook) scored 18 points and raced to a time of 3:32.47.

In the diving well, freshman Lexington Passamonte (Rochester, NY / Greece Athena) reached her first career "A" final in her second MAAC championship appearance, securing her highest finish in a MAAC Championship, scoring 184.50 for 12 points and a seventh place finish.

On the women's side, freshman Mackenzie Tuttle (Highland Mills, NY / Monroe-Woodbury) finished 26th in the 200 freestyle with a sub two-minute time of 1:59.34 while senior captain Kali Nembach (Lynbrook, NY/ Lynbrook) finished in the top 25 with a time of 1:10.36 in the 100 breaststroke.

The Men's team currently sits in ninth place with 96 points, while the women's team is tenth with 56 points.

The meet concludes tomorrow with two more sessions, beginning at 10 am with preliminaries in 11 events and the finals of 13 events tomorrow evening.
