Twenty-Six Student-Athletes Earn Inclusion Into Epsilon Sigma Pi

Riverdale, NY – Twenty-six student-athletes were inducted into the prestigious Epsilon Sigma Pi honor society at the annual Fall Honors Convocation.

Epsilon Sigma Pi is the oldest college-wide honor society on campus, and saw its inauguration on campus in 1933. During its history, Epsilon Sigma Pi has fulfilled the purpose of its founders "to serve as a medium of recognition for students whose scholastic achievements throughout the first three years of college study warrant such recognition by the College and their fellow students." Membership in Epsilon Sigma Pi engages its members to promote and foster cultural and intellectual pursuits by their example and activities on campus.

Each member is expected to develop in scholarship by undertaking a program of independent study. Only students who have earned a scholastic index of 3.5 during their first six semesters at Manhattan College and who have not incurred any academic failure during the same period are inducted at the beginning of their senior year. Other students who have attained the same status are admitted to membership at the May Commencement.
