Riverdale, NY -
Monmouth used a late 10-0 run to post a 65-58 win over Manhattan in MAAC action at Draddy Gymnasium.

The Jaspers fall to 8-7 and 4-2 in the league, while the Hawks improve to 10-7 and 4-2 in the MAAC.

Sophomore Elijah Buchanan (Bronx, NY / Woodstock Academy (CT)) scored 10 of his team-leading 16 points over the final seven-plus minutes of action, while snatching a game and career-high matching eight rebounds to lead the way for the Green & White.

Fueled by a 16-3 first-half run, Monmouth took a scant three-point advantage into the break, before opening up a 50-40 lead with 10:17 remaining following a Deion Hammond three pointer. Sophomore Christian Hinckson (Queens, NY / Tilton School (NH)) then hit a jumper and a pair from the line, before Buchanan drained a jumper to trim the deficit to four at 50-46 with 7:45 remaining.
After Marcus McClary briefly quelled the bleeding with a free throw, Buchanan converted a triple off a feed from junior Nehemiah Mack (Harrisburg, PA / Massanutten Prep), and senior Pauly Paulicap (Elmont, NY / Harcum Prep) hit a pair to tie the game up at 53-53 with 5:05 remaining.

Hammond then answered a jumper, only to have Buchanan respond by giving the Jaspers their first lead of the second half at 56-55 with 4:25 to play with a huge three pointer.
Unfortunately, Hammond would respond with a three pointer of his own while sparking the aforementioned game-clinching 10-0 run.

Sophomore Warren Williams (Kingston, Jamaica / St. Benedict's Prep (NJ)) scored 12 points, while senior Tyler Reynolds (Syracuse, NY / Harcum College) added nine points and five rebounds and classmate Pauly Paulicap (Elmont, NY / Harcum College) chipped in with eight points, four rebounds and two blocks.
Deion Hammond and Ray Salnave each scored 16 points to pace Monmouth, which shot 46.3 percent (25-of-54), including 61.5 percent (8-of-13) from deep.
