Jamaica, NY – St. John's scored twice in the second half to close out a 3-0 victory over the Manhattan Jaspers on Friday night at Belson Stadium.
Manhattan (0-1) was outshot on the evening 19-4 by the Red Storm, but the Jaspers put three of their four shots on net. Manhattan also registered five corners, compared to four for St. John's.
Reigning MAAC Defensive Player of the Week Marcellin Gohier (Sr., Nantes, Frances / CENS) made four stops in the loss for the Jaspers.
St. John's (3-0) opened the scoring with a Brandon Knapp putback finish off a rebound in the 14th minute. The Red Storm added two more in the second stanza, as Tani Oluwaseyi and Skage Simonsen tallied their names on the scoresheet.
Manhattan returns to action next Saturday, as they travel across the Hudson River to take on Big Ten member Rutgers.

- Sophomore Thomas Hitchens (Raleigh, NC / Wakefield) and senior Callum Carsley (Birmingham, England / Princethorpe College) each also played the full 90 minutes.
- Junior Brandon Joseph-Buadi (Brighton, England / Woodard) recorded two shots on goal for Manhattan.
