Meet Notes:
- Both of Manhattan's men's and women's teams earned second place at the 2018 Met Championships. The Jasper women scored 140.50 points, while the men earned 181. St. John's won the women's side, and host Rutgers took home first for the men's teams.
- Now senior Ryan Addlesberger (Cinnaminson, NJ / Cinnaminson) is the reigning Met Champion in the men's shot put, earning a distance of 16.32 meters last year. Eric Waugh (Wheatley Heights, NY / Half Hollow Hills West) took second in the event, while Anu Awonusi (Dublin, Ireland / Kilkenny College) earned fourth. Waugh also placed third in the men's discus, with Awonusi earning fourth in the event.
- Elizabeth Reid (Mt. Laurel, NJ / Lanape) placed second in the women's pole vault in 2018, reaching a height of 2.56 meters. She and teammate Chris Woodhouse (Staten Island, NY / Staten Island Technical) will compete in the event on Friday.
- Decathlon events will also begin Friday afternoon. Tim Youtkus (Basking Ridge, NJ / Ridge) will compete, after earning second in the multi-event last season.
- Coming off a huge 4x400 win at the Colonial Relays last week, the Jasper women's squad of Zarah Harris (Montgomery, NY / Valley Central), Niasia Boone (Morrisville, NY / Pennsbury), Chinelo Nnakwe (Central Islip, NY / St. Anthony's) and Jasmine Davis (Ronkonkoma, NY / Hauppauge) will take on the event again at Mets.
- Reigning MAAC Female Field Performer of the Week Nina Bjorkman (Vasteras, Sweden / Widenska Idrottsgymnasium) will compete in the discus and shot put this weekend.
- The Jaspers will also compete in the 10,000-meters for the first time this season. Chris Emerson (Westbury, NY / Kellenberg Memorial), Michael Hennelly (Suffern, NY / Suffern) and Chad Maier (Melville, NY / Walt Whitman) take on the distance competition for the men, while Sam Hoagland (Colt's Neck, NJ / Colt's Neck) will run in the women's competition.
