Highlights:
- The Jaspers swept the hammer throw competition on Friday, March 29, with both Nina Bjorkman (Vasteras, Sweden / Widenska Idrottsgymnasium) and Enrique Martinez (San Salvador, El Salvador / Barton CC) nabbing first place.
- Bjorkman, in her first collegiate outdoor meet, recorded a throw of 51.84 meters, defeating her closest opponent by more than two meters and qualifying for the ECAC Championships later this season.
- Martinez, a first-year transfter, hit 57.75 meters in his win, qualifying for the IC4A Championships.
- Junior Niasia Boone (Morrisville, PA / Pennsbury) won the women's 100-meters, recording a personal best time of 12.33 in the event.
- Senior Eric Waugh (Wheatley Heights, NY / Half Hollow Hills West) won the men's discus throw with a distance of 52.52 meters, a personal best. Waugh also qualified for the IC4A Championships with a fifth-place showing in the men's hammer throw, recording a distance of 51.36 meters, also a personal best.
- The Manhattan women's 4x100 relay squad, comprised of Amahri Boyce (Newark, NJ / North Star Academy), Boone, Tiahna Mitchell (Joppa, MD / Harford Technical) and Lisa Warfvinge (Varberg, Sweden / Peder Skrivares School) won the relay with a time of 47.85, qualifying for the ECAC Championship.
- The men's 4x100 team, including Ian Simmons, Larry McCullum (Piscataway, NJ / Piscataway), Dorian Ryan (Valley Stream, NY / Xavier) and Seth Goitia (New Windsor, NY / Cornwall Central) qualified for the IC4A Championships in the event with a third place finish of 42.32.
- Will Stallings (Sleepy Hollow, NY / Sleepy Hollow) qualified for the IC4A men's 400-meters with a time of 48.78 on Saturday, earning third place.
- Nicholas Kocienda (Seaford, NY / Seaford) placed second in the men's hammer throw, qualifying for the IC4A Championships with a distance of 56.35 meters, a personal best.
- Coming off a victory at VCU last week, Chris Woodhouse (Staten Island, NY / Staten Island Technical) placed second in the men's pole vault at Monmouth, reaching a height of 4.42 meters, topping his previous career best.
- Ryan Addlesberger (Cinnaminson, NJ / Cinnaminson) took home second in the men's shot put, hitting a distance of 17.24 meters, setting yet another personal best for the Jaspers and qualifying for the IC4A Championships. Teammate Anu Awonusi (Dublin, Ireland / Kilkenny College) also qualified for IC4As in the event, finishing third with a throw of 16.70 meters, a career best.
- Alexandra Preckajlo (Ocean, NJ / St. Rose) placed second in the women's discus throw, qualifying for the ECAC Championships with a distance of 46.83 meters, a collegiate best for the sophomore.
- Cassie Riley (Fair Haven, NY / Red Bank Catholic) earned second place in the women's high jump, hitting a height of 1.62 meters and setting a new PR.
- Both the men's and women's teams placed third overall at the meet. The men totaled 79 points, while the women earned 80. Monmouth won both the men's and women's team titles.
Next weekend, Manhattan travels to Williamsburg, VA for the Colonial Relays, starting on April 4.
