Shawn Blake (Stratford, CT / Elon) had a solid day at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two walks and a run, while senior
Richie Barrella (Larchmont, NY / Canterbury Prep) reached base safely twice with a hit and a walk to round out the top performers at the plate.
Carson Taylor was 5-for-6 with four doubles and three RBI while Luke Horanski went 3-for-5 with a home run and five RBI to lead the way for a Hokie offense that rapped out 20 hits.
Virginia Tech improves to 2-0 while Manhattan falls to 0-2 on the year.
The Jaspers will conclude play at the RyCass Classic on Sunday, February 17 at 3:00 pm.
