Jaspers Excel In Pole Vault On Day One Of Mets

Bronx, NY - Freshman Lilly Brown (Ringwood, NJ / Lakeland Regional) claimed the 2019 Metropolitan Indoor Championship in the pole vault January 31, hitting a height of 3.05 meters. The win marks Brown's first as a Jasper.

Senior Chris Woodhouse (Staten Island, NY / Staten Island Technical) claimed second place in the men's pole vault Thursday, tying his collegiate best of  4.50 meters, set earlier this year at the Yale Season Opener. 

Fellow senior Elizabeth Reid (Mt. Laurel, NJ / Lenape) took second in the women's pole vault, as well, recording a height of 2.90 meters, also a personal best. Reid first hit 2.90 meters on January 12 of this year at the TCNJ Lions Indoor Invitational at The Armory. 

After competing in the pole vault at Fordham on the first day of the Metropolitan Championships, the Jaspers continue competition Friday at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island.
