Napoli is a four-year member of the squad, and has made an impact across campus in her time at Manhattan, including serving in the College's student government and being a standout student in the civil engineering program. Napoli has also spearheaded Manhattan volleyball's fundraising efforts for the Friends of Karen organization for years.
Post-ceremony, the Jaspers faced MAAC-leading Fairfield, dropping the match in three sets to the undefeated Stags. Manhattan falls to 6-21 overall and 3-11 in the league, while Fairfield improves to 18-4 and 13-0 in the MAAC.
Highlights:
- Fairfield swept the match 25-20, 25-21, 25-21.
- Julia Menocal (Bronx, NY / Preston) followed up her career-high attack performance on Saturday with 12 kills against the Stags to lead Manhattan.
- Vivian Donovan (Newport Beach, CA / Newport Harbor) added 10 kills, as well as 10 digs to make it her second double-double performance of the weekend.
- Erin Hoener (St. Louis, MO / Incarnate Word) tallied a match-high three blocks, bringing her season total to 95, just eight away from the program's single-season top 10.
- With 71 block assists this year, Hoener is also 10 away from that single-season list. She is now tied for 10th on the program's solo blocks single-season list (24).
- Nashally Eleutiza (Orlando, FL / Monroe) earned 20 digs over the three-set match, bringing her season total to 420, just 52 away from the program's top 10 single-season digs list.
- The Jaspers hit .185 for the match, but put together a .345 attack in the second set, earning 13 kills on 29 attempts. Manhattan totaled 12 attack errors on the day, compared to 17 from Fairfield.
- Fairfield's Kaylie Butts led all players with 19 kills.
Manhattan will travel to Iona Saturday, November 9 to take on the Gaels at 1:00 pm.
