Riverdale, NY – The Manhattan Men's Soccer returns home for the final home game of the regular season, as the Jaspers host Niagara on Saturday, October 2 at 3:00 pm.

Angee Komano will all be recognized prior to tomorrow's game in a ceremony beginning at 2:40 pm. The nine players were key contributors to the rise of the program, which included a berth in the 2017 MAAC Tournament, a school-record 12 wins in 2018 and the program's first-ever victory over a top-25 team (Fordham - 2018).

Last Time Out: After battling back to tie the match in the 83rd minute, on junior
Berti Fourrier's team-leading fifth goal of the year, Manhattan dropped a tough 2-1 overtime decision to Saint Peter's in MAAC action at Jaroschak Field.
For His Career ... Fourrier has nine goals and eight assists. Additionally, his five scores in 2019 rank 10th in the MAAC.
Player Of The Week: Awana was named MAAC Defensive Player of the Week following his performance against Fairfield and Canisius. The Jaspers went 2-0 during the week, and Awana was the centerpiece of a defense that allowed only one goal all week, including a shutout of Fairfield. Awana also scored the game winning goal against Canisius in the 50th minute.

Lucas Da Silva scored a goal off a pass from from
Callum Carsley.
One Is the Loneliest Number: The Jaspers have played 10 one-goal games this season and are 4-6 in those games.

Marcellin Gohier went 2-0 with a shutout last week and now has 22 wins and a school record 15 shutouts in his three-year career.
Awana Has Class: Awana was selected as one of 30 candidates for 2019 Men's Soccer Senior CLASS® Award. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School ® the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities. A 2018 All-MAAC first team selection, he will graduate this year with a degree in management and finished his first year in Riverdale with a 3.67 GPA, including a 3.87 mark in the spring semester. Series History: Dating back to 1993, the Jaspers lead the all-time series 13-10-2 and Manhattan has won six of the last seven meetings. Last year, Manhattan went to Niagara and defeated the Purple Eagles 1-0 on an Amissah goal.
Scouting the Opposition:
- The Purple Eagles are 5-10-1, and are 3-4-1 in MAAC play, falling 3-2 to Saint Peter's in their most recent action.
- Rodrigo Almeida leads Niagara with six goals and one assist.
- Nick Burke has started seven games in net for the Purple Egles and has made 35 saves this season, allowing a 2.29 GAA.
Testing Yourself: The Jaspers' six non-conference opponents are a combined 44-35-11 on the season entering this week of play.
