Manhattan drops to 3-15 overall this season, while St. Francis Brooklyn improves to 7-11 on the year.
Highlights:
- Freshman Kelly Markowski (Winter Park, FL / Lake Highlight Preparatory) earned a collegiate best 13 kills to pace the Jaspers' attack against SFBK, hitting .200 on the evening and leading all players in the match. Vivian Donovan (Newport Beach, CA / Newport Harbor) added 11 kills, as well as two aces and eight digs.
- Erin Hoener (St. Louis, MO / Incarnate Word) earned seven kills in the match, surpassing 500 for her career (503). She once again led the Jaspers' defense at the net, tallying four blocks.
- Nashally Eleutiza (Orlando, FL / Monroe) nabbed a team-high 18 digs against the Terriers, while Katelynn Riner (Kennesaw, GA / Georgia Southern) also contributed double-digit digs at 10.
- Down 2-0 in the match, Manhattan surged in the third, breaking out to a 17-9 advantage as two kills from Donovan and two aces from Julieanne McKee (Poughkeepsie, NY / Spackenkill) sparked a 4-0 run. A kill from Hoener sealed the third-set win.
- Manhattan held a one-kill advantage over the Terriers (42-41) and served two more aces (7-5) in the match. But St. Francis Brooklyn out-blocked the Jaspers 9-6 as a team, with Taris Pittman picking up a match-high five blocks for the Terriers.
- SFBK's Una Stevic put up 12 kills and 13 digs in the match, adding four blocks and four aces.
Manhattan will host MAAC rival Iona Saturday, October 12 at 1:00 pm in Draddy Gymnasium. The first 50 students with a Manhattan College ID will get a free Brother Jasper t-shirt.
