Volleyball Set For Three MAAC Matches

Riverdale, NY - Manhattan volleyball will take on three MAAC opponents this week, including a road trip to Jersey City to take on Saint Peter's Wednesday, October 16 and back-to-back home matches against Siena and Marist this weekend. 

Match Notes:
  • The Jaspers (3-16, 1-6 MAAC) will face both Siena (8-9, 3-4 MAAC) and Marist (7-11, 5-3 MAAC) for the first time this season, while taking on Saint Peter's (3-16, 1-7 MAAC) for the second time this year. 
  • Manhattan will play the Peacocks at 7:00 pm Wednesday, then return home to host Siena at 1:00 pm on October 19 and Marist at the same time on October 20.
  • Manhattan fell to the Peacocks in four sets at home on September 21. Erin Hoener (St. Louis, MO / Incarnate Word) paced the Jaspers' attack in the match, earning 13 kills.
  • Averaging 0.94 blocks per set this season, Hoener ranks fourth in the MAAC. She's posted 67 blocks on the year.
  • Vivian Donovan (Newport Beach, CA / Newport Harbor) leads Manhattan with 2.40 kills per set and 2.58 kills per set in MAAC play. She also ranks in the MAAC's top five with 0.40 service aces per set.
  • Libero Nashally Eleutiza (Orlando, FL / Monroe) is averaging 5.12 digs per set against conference opponents, a team high. She ranks sixth in the MAAC with 4.30 digs per set overall this year.
  • Siena comes into the week ranking second in the MAAC in team kills per set (12.38). The Saints also average 2.02 team blocks per set, ranking second in that category, as well. 
  • Nicole Deobler is hitting 2.95 kills per set for Siena, good for fourth in the league. 
  • Marist's Megan Fergus ranks second in the MAAC for kills per set, averaging 3.64. She also ranks second in points per set at 4.19 and is the reigning MAAC Player of the Week. 
  • The Red Foxes' Sophie Theriot was named the league's Libero of the Week on Tuesday. She ranks second in the league with 4.73 digs per set.
