Riverdale, NY – After capturing a pair of wins in the Bronx, Manhattan (3-0) looks to stretch its winning streak to four to open the season when they head north to visit Sacred Heart (0-1-1) on Labor Day at 12:00 pm.

Live stats will be provided courtesy of Sacred Heart, while fans can also keep track of the game on the Manhattan men's soccer Twitter page using the links above.

In case you missed it…
  • The Jaspers posted a 2-0 win over NEC preseason favorite St. Francis Brooklyn on Thursday night at Gaelic Park, Manhattan's first win over the rival in four seasons.
  • Fifth-year senior Troy Carrington netted the game-winner in the 63rd minute when he deposited a shot in the upper right corner of the goal.
  • Sophomore Berti Fourrier capped the scoring less than six minutes later when he got past the Terrier defense and deked the St. Francis Brooklyn keeper.
  • Junior goalkeeper Marcellin Gohier registered his ninth career shutout, now tied for second in program history. He scooped up five saves in the victory.

Team Leaders
  • Fourrier now leads the team with two goals and five points on the year.
  • Senior Lucas Da Silva is tops with two assists.

Forward Progress
  • Of the six goals that Manhattan has scored in its first three games, forwards have accounted for five of them.
  • Defender Simon Busch is the only non-forward with a tally this season.
  • The forwards have 14 of the team's 18 points.
  • Eight different Jaspers have points in 2018.

National Notice
After August 30's slate of Division I games, Manhattan ranks in the upper echelon in a few statistics (Stats are updated entering August 31).
  • Entering Friday, Manhattan was one of three teams (#21 Colgate, UNCW) to have three wins and no losses.
  • The Jaspers were tied for 13th place in total points (18) with UCLA, Xavier, Northern Kentucky and Wright State.
  • Manhattan is 21st with a 0.33 goals-against average and tied for 25th with a .900 save percentage (Gohier ranks 29th individually in the latter category).

That was a fun August
The Jaspers collected three wins in the month of August after notching two victories in that time last season. Considering that the Jaspers have only recently started playing that many games in the month, they had three wins in August for the entire millennium prior to this season.

Go for Four
Manhattan looks to increase its winning streak to four games, which it achieved last season as the team rattled off four straight victories to open MAAC play.

Scouting Report: Sacred Heart
  • The Pioneers sit at 0-1-1 on the year, tough they recently tied the A-10's preseason third-ranked team, UMASS, 1-1 on August 27 in Fairfield, CT.
  • Alejandro Arribas scored the Pioneers' long goal of the game and the season in the draw.
  • Sacred Heart was tabbed ninth in the 2018 NEC Preseason Poll.
  • Manhattan defeated Sacred Heart 1-0 in Riverdale last season. Da Silva netted his first goal in the Kelly Green and White, while Gohier and Connor Hayes combined for the shutout in net.
  • The Jaspers and Pioneers will play for the third time since the 1993 season. In that span, Manhattan leads the short series 1-0-1.
