The Jaspers drop to 0-13 on the year, and 0-2 in the MAAC, while Saint Peter's improves to 3-13 and 1-2 in the conference.
Highlights:
- The Jaspers' attack was led by senior hitter Olyvia Chaltas (Temecula, CA / Great Oak), who tallied five kills on the night to bring her season total to 42 (1.45 per set).
- Starting in the setter position for the first time this season, senior Alyssa Rehrer (Lorton, VA / South County) earned a team-high 15 assists for Manhattan. She also led the team in digs at eight, in addition to three kills.
- Sophomore middle blocker Meagan Miller (Oakville, ON / Oakville Trafalgar) led Manhattan with three blocks, tying her season high first earned against Lafayette on August 31.
- Jade Jeffrey (Tamarac, FL / Cardinal Gibbons), Erin Hoener (St. Louis, MO / Incarnate Word), and Vivian Donovan (Newport Beach, CA / Newport Harbor) each had four kills for the Jaspers.
- Saint Peter's Angelleyshka Curbelo earned a match-high nine kills for the Peacocks, helped along by Alexus Sharp's six. As a team, the Peacocks put together a .277 hitting percentage for the match, including a .419 percentage in the second set.
- Karla Seda nabbed 12 digs for the Peacocks, for a match high. Curbelo added 10 of her own.
- Saint Peter's setter Angelee Ng finished the match with 23 assists to lead all players.
- Saint Peter's totaled six blocks for the match, to Manhattan's four.
- This was the first time Saint Peter's has defeated Manhattan since October 24, 2009. The Jaspers will travel to Jersey City, NJ for the teams' second match of the season on November 4.
Manhattan will take to the road Saturday, September 22 for a 1:00 pm match-up with the reigning MAAC champions, Fairfield. The Jaspers' next home contest will be Saturday, September 29 against Niagara, also at 1:00 pm.
