Watch Live | Live Stats

Riverdale, NY -
Manhattan volleyball will host its 2018 home opener against Cal State Fullerton Thursday, August 30 at 5:00 pm in Draddy Gymnasium. The Jaspers (0-3) are looking for their first win of the season against the Titans (2-1) after beginning the season at the St. John's Jack Kaiser Classic this past weekend.

Game Notes:
  • Senior defensive specialist Alyssa Rehrer (Lorton, VA / South County) is on a quest to break into the program's list of top 10 all-time digs. She currently stands at 1,102 for her career, and is 45 digs away from tying Kelsey Huntoon (2009-12) at 1,147 all-time. Rehrer was named to the Kaiser Classic All-Tournament Team after averaging six digs per set in the Jaspers' three matches.
  • Senior hitter Olyvia Chaltas (Temecula, CA / Great Oak) leads Manhattan in kills (17) and kills per set (2.43). She led all players in the Jaspers' match against Central Connecticut State on Saturday with 13 kills and 14 points.
  • Freshman Shruti Mangipudi (San Ramon, CA / Dougherty Valley) has emerged as the Jaspers' first setter, leading the team with 37 assists. She earned 24 of those assists against Central Connecticut State on Saturday.
  • Senior Kenza Hall (Oakland, CA / Middle Tennessee State) and sophomore Erin Hoener (St. Louis, MO / Incarnate Word) form the Jaspers' defense at the net, each with six blocks on the season and averaging nearly one block per set.
  • Thursday's match will be Cal State Fullerton's first road game of the season. The Titans are on an East Coast Swing to start September, taking on Delaware State, St. Francis Brooklyn, and Bucknell in Brooklyn after playing the Jaspers.
  • Both of Titans' victories have been three-set matches vs. UMass Lowell and Montana. Cal State Fullerton opened the season with a five-set loss to Akron on August 24.
  • Senior Madeline Schneider leads the Titans' offense with 46 kills on the season, averaging 4.18 kills per set (.330 hitting percentage).
  • At the net, sophomore Tyler Fezzey and senior Summer Kerins are the Titans' co-block leaders, each with 10 total blocks on the short season.
  • The Jasper roster boasts six players from the Sunshine State, including four from southern Californian, where Fullerton is located.
  • Jasper freshman setter Erin Prevo (San Diego, CA / Our Lady of Peace) has a family connection to Cal State Fullerton: Her mother, Aletia, played volleyball for the Titans as an undergrad.
