Day One Results
Tampa, FL - Manhattan track and field's
Love Litzell (Ostersund, Sweden / Wargentinskolan) and
Eduard Winner (Tel Aviv, Israel) each earned top 30 performances in their respective field events at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East Region preliminaries on Thursday, May 24. The pair are the first of five Jaspers to compete at the regionals this week, with the top 12 performers moving on to the national championship in Eugene, OR.
Litzell, a senior, competed in the men's hammer throw, hitting a distance of 60.99 meters and finishing in 30th overall in the competition. Litzell missed qualifying for nationals by less than six meters, but earned the highest MAAC finish in the event, besting Timothy Wilson of Monmouth, who posted a distance of 55.58 meters. Last year, Litzell placed 32nd in the hammer throw at the NCAA preliminaries, finishing with a distance of 60.22 meters.

Winner was the only MAAC pole vaulter competing in the NCAA prelims on Thursday. He missed qualifying for nationals by 0.25 meters.
