Princeton, NJ - Junior Lisa Fajardo (Brooklyn, NY / Bishop Kearney) bested her own school record in the outdoor 5,000-meter race at the 2018 Larry Ellis Invitational on Friday, April 20 in Princeton, NJ. Fajardo finished with a time of 16:47.52, more than 15 seconds faster than her original record of 17.03.97 set at Larry Ellis in 2017.
Fajardo finished fourth in the race on Friday, and she qualified for the ECAC championships later this season. She wasn't the only Jasper making moves at the meet. Junior
Amir Khaghani (Bethesda, MD / Walt Whitman) finished 11th in the men's 5K race with a time of 14:33.24, qualifying for the IC4A championships.
Several Manhattan field performers also traveled to the War Eagle Invitational at Auburn University this weekend. Senior
Love Litzell (Ostersund, Sweden / Wargentinskolan) placed second in the hammer throw with a distance of 61.95 meters, nearing a top 30 NCAA Division I east region performance. Sophomore
Brenton Foster (Townsville, Australia / William Ross) placed fourth in the high jump with a height of 2.13 meters.

Ire Bozovicar (Potoki, Slovenia / Gimazija Jesenice) earned fifth place in the discus, hitting a distance of 52.92 meters. He also placed in the top 10 in the shot put, throwing a distance of 16.00 meters and earning ninth place.
