Riverdale, NY - With a 60-44 win over Manhattan on Sunday, December 9, Wright State won the 2018 Manhattan Classic, going 2-0 for the weekend. The Raiders improved their record to 7-3 for the season, while Manhattan falls to 2-7 on the year.Â
Highlights:
- Tuuli Menna (Helsinki, Finland / Richmond) led Manhattan in two columns on Sunday, scoring 11 points and pulling down eight rebounds. She added a season-high three assists on the day, with two steals and no turnovers, earning herself a spot on the Manhattan Classic All-Tournament Team.Â
- Getting her first starting assignment of the season, freshman Kania Pollock (Queens, NY / The Mary Louis Academy) scored nine for the Jaspers in a season-high 30 minutes of play.Â
- Manhattan earned a season-low 11 turnovers against the Raiders, besting their previous season-low of 13 earned against Fordham on December 1.
- The Jaspers allowed 50 rebounds in Sunday's contest, the first time this year they have allowed a team to earn more than 43 boards. However, Manhattan also pulled down 44 of their own, a season-high, with nine players contributing to the effort and five earning five rebounds or more.Â
- Wright State's Michal Miller was named MVP of the Manhattan Classic, while her teammate Mackenzie Taylor was named to the All-Tournament Team. Miller earned a game-high 16 points on Sunday, while Taylor added 10 of her own, as well as four rebounds and five assists.
- Taylor hit her 1,000th career-point in the first half of the game.Â
- Drexel's Bailey Greenberg and Aubree Brown were also named to the Manhattan Classic All-Tournament Team.Â
