The Jaspers move to 1-3 on the season, as Stony Brook improves to 2-1.
Highlights:
- Davis' new personal scoring best tops her 13 points scored against St. Francis Brooklyn on November 10. She added two steals on the day.
- Thirteen Jaspers saw action on Saturday, with 11 active on the offensive end. Candela Abejón (Gijon, Spain / USC) put in seven as the second-highest scorer for Manhattan on the day.
- Courtney Warley (West Chester, PA / Bishop Shanahan) pulled down a team-high five rebounds against the Seawolves, while eight other Jaspers were active on the boards.
- Manhattan shot 41.9 percent for the game, including going 7-10 in the third quarter and 6-10 in the final 10 minutes. The Jaspers went 5-15 (33.3 percent) from three-point range, improving on their shooting from behind the arc from their previous contest at UAlbany, where the team went 0-16 in the game.
- After falling behind 43-17 at the half, the Jaspers sparked in the final two periods, tying the Seawolves 18-18 in the third and playing a close 18-13 fourth quarter.
- Manhattan shook things up with a new starting five Saturday, after using the same combination for the first three games. The Jaspers' starters against Stony Brook included Gabby Cajou (Stony Point, NY / North Rockland), Lynette Taitt (Irvington, NJ / Bishop Loughlin), Davis, Tuuli Menna (Helsinki, Finland / Richmond), and Warley.
- The Jaspers took a 5-0 block advantage in the game, including two blocks from forward Pamela Miceus (Haverstraw, NY / North Rockland), who added a steal, an assist, and three rebounds to her day's performance.
- Stony Brook, picked second in the the America East's preseason poll, out-rebounded the Jaspers 39-27, including a 20-8 advantage on the offensive boards. The Seawolves forced 21 turnovers from Manhattan, while only committing 10.
