Hutzler, Voitik Shine In Dual Meet Against Pepperdine

Malibu, CA – Senior Alexandra Hutzler (Miller Place, NY / Miller Place) and junior Kathryn Voitik (Moscow, PA / Scranton Prep) each picked up wins as Manhattan fell 145-97 to Pepperdine in a dual meet Saturday morning.
 
Hutzler was victorious in the 100-yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:09.98, outpacing the Waves' Julianna Chan by 24 milliseconds. The senior also finished the 100-yard Butterfly in 1:00.76 to place second.
 
Voitik took home the gold in the 500-yard Freestyle. Thanks to the second-fastest split time (64.45 seconds) and the best final split time (66.56 seconds) amongst her competitors, she raced 5:35.90 and finished a shade under three seconds ahead of the next swimmer.
 
Sophomore Kali Nembach (Lynbrook, NY / Lynbrook) had two top-three finishes in the meet. She was Manhattan's top finisher in the 50-yard Freestyle, placing second in 26.70 seconds. In the 100-yard Freestyle, she earned third place in 58.79 seconds.
 
The Jaspers return to the pool on Saturday, January 13 for their first home meet of the season, hosting Sacred Heart at 1:00 pm.
