Bronx, NY -
Manhattan College track & field topped seven events (including a sweep in women's shot put) as the Jaspers competed in the Mike Massone Invitational held at Fordham University on Friday, January 12.

Freshmen Alexandra Preckajlo (Ocean, NJ / St. Rose) and Lasma Padedze (Ogre, Latvia / Ogre Secondary School No. 1), and sophomore Cheyenne Lewis (Queens, NY / Washingtonville) took the top three spots in the women's shot put event, each with a distance over 11 meters. Preckajlo hit 12.49 meters for first place, while newcomer Padedze, who joined the Manhattan roster at the beginning of 2018, fell just behind at 12.16 meters. Lewis earned 11.10 meters, rounding out the Jasper trifecta.

The Jaspers claimed the men's shot put as well, with junior Ryan Addlesberger (Cinnaminson, NJ / Cinnaminson) posting 16.29 meters.

Continuing Manhattan's success in throws, Lewis topped the board for the women's weight throw, earning a distance of 14.98 meters. Sophomore Nicholas Kocienda (Seaford, NY / Seaford) also grabbed first place in the men's weight throw, with a distance 15.59 meters.

Junior Lisa Fajardo (Brooklyn, NY / Bishop Kearney) topped the leader board in distance, running the 5,000 meters in 17:10.51, nearly 52 seconds quicker than the next competitor.

In jumps, senior Charlene Pohl (Bisingen, Germany / Gymnasium Balingen) hit 5.55 meters for first place in the long jump. Sophomore Brenton Foster (Townsville, Australia / William Ross) also earned first with a 2.10-meter high jump. In December, Foster broke the school record with a 2.24-meter jump, and he currently holds the second-highest jump in NCAA Division I.
