Riverdale, NY - The 45th edition of the "Battle of the Bronx" kicks off between Manhattan (3-3-0) and Fordham (4-2-1) at Jack Coffey Field on Wednesday, September 20 at 7:00 pm.
On top of being a local rivalry, this game is also the Jaspers' final non-conference game of 2017 before MAAC play begins next week.

Brandon Joseph-Buadi were selected as the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, for this current week.
Carsley is the first Jasper to win Offensive Player of the Week honors since Thomas Bandov earned the nomination in the final week of September in 2008. Joseph-Buadi is the first Manhattan freshman to be named Rookie of the Week since
Andrew Melitsanopoulos '16 captured the award in November of 2013.
Goalie Tandem
In the past five games, Manhattan has rotated their starter in net between junior
Connor Hayes and sophomore
Marcellin Gohier. The pair have combined to post a meager 1.16 goals-against average. Gohier has yet to allow a goal in over 157 minutes of action, while Hayes has made 17 stops this season, including a career-high seven saves in the loss to St. Francis Brooklyn.
Booster Shots
Despite being held to just five shots against the Terriers, Manhattan is averaging over 12 shots per game. The Jaspers have 77 shots this season, which ranks third in the MAAC behind Canisius and Marist. They have already notched 12 goals in 2017, surpassing last year's total of nine.
Scouting the Rams
The defending A-10 champion Rams are 4-2-1 this season and are currently riding a three-game winning streak. They will play their third straight MAAC opponent; they beat Marist 2-1 on September 13 and Quinnipiac 1-0 on September 16.
Midfielder/Forward Janos Loebe is the current A-10 Offensive Player of the Week. He leads Fordham with four goals, two assists and 20 shots this season. Goalkeeper Rashid Nuhu has allowed just five goals in 650 minutes while collecting 21 saves.
Series History
Fordham has a 29-12-3 edge in the all-time series that dates back to 1969. Last year, the Jaspers snapped a seven-game losing streak to the Rams with a scoreless draw at Gaelic Park.
Nifty at 50
This season marks the 50th anniversary of the Men's Soccer program. Manhattan will be hosting a special Alumni Day on Saturday, September 30 starting with the annual Alumni Game at 11:00 am. The Jaspers will then host Marist at 2:00 pm before holding a special 50th anniversary dinner at 7:00 pm. Click
