Riverdale, NY - Fairfield withstood a feisty Manhattan squad by a 3-0 count in MAAC action at Draddy Gymnasium.

The Stags improve to 7-6 and 1-0 in the MAAC while the Jaspers fall 0-13 and 0-2 in the league.

Junior Sandra Lozanova (Pernik, Bulgaria / Fresno State) paced Manhattan with 10 kills, on .292 killing while classmate Taylor Hasley (Memphis, TN / St. Agnes Academy) added 14 assists and junior Alyssa Rehrer (Lorton, VA / South County) 10 digs to pace the top performers for the Jaspers.

Fairfield was led by Kaitlyn Fisher (11 kills) and Manuela Nicolini (32 assists, 3 kills).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Junior Zoe Lindsey (McHenry, IL / McHenry CC) also notched double-figures with 11 assists.

- Freshman Erin Hoener (St. Louis, MO / Incarnate Word) had another strong showing with six kills, on .417 hitting.

- Senior Mary Donnelly(Temecula, CA / Chaparral) matched Hoener with six kills.

- In the first set with Fairfield leading 16-12, Manhattan ripped off four-straight points to tie up the match before later taking an 18-17 lead in forcing a Stag timeout.

- Unfortunately, for the Jaspers called for a back row error on the ensuing play as the Stags responded with a set-changing 4-0 spurt en route to posting a 25-20 victory.

- Lozanova notched four kills to lead the way for Manhattan.

- The second set was a back-and-forth affair with the Jaspers hitting .222 as Donnelly, Hoener and Lozanova all registering three kills.
