LEWISBURG, PA – Trailing 6-3 midway through the second half on Sunday afternoon, the Manhattan College women's lacrosse team scored four straight goals to take lead. However, two late tallies by Bucknell gave the Bison (5-1) an 8-7 victory over the Jaspers (0-3) at Graham Field.
Playing for the first time in 10 days, Manhattan scored the first two goals of the game on free position shots by Kara Hodapp (Oak Ridge, NJ) and Darby Nolan (Oak Ridge, NJ). Bucknell responded with two goals of its own, and the teams went into halftime deadlocked at 2-2.
After Sarah Lang (Golden's Bridge, NY) broke the tie with a free position goal early in the second half, Bucknell countered with four straight tallies to go up 6-3. Molly Fitzpatrick (Yorktown, NY) started the Manhattan comeback when she found the back of the net off an Emily Sandford (Floral Park, NY) pass at the 15:21 mark. Lang and Nolan then scored a little over a minute apart to tie it at 6-6 before another Lang goal put the Jaspers in front, 7-6, with 7:17 remaining.

Nolan earned a free position attempt with 2:08 left, but her shot was saved by Bucknell goalkeeper Jamie DeWitt. The Jaspers had one last chance to tie it with 42 seconds to go, but Fitzpatrick's shot was wide, and Bucknell held on for the win.
