South Orange, NJ - Junior LHP Tom Cosgrove (Staten Island, NY / Farrell) struck out a career-high 12 in just five innings of work but it wasn't enough as Seton Hall broke an eighth-inning tie with four runs in defeating Manhattan 7-3 at Owen T. Carroll Field.

The Jaspers will conclude play at the Strike Out Cancer Tournament tomorrow with a 12:00 pm contest against Lehigh.

For the second-straight game, Manhattan opened the scoring in the first inning. Sophomore Fabian Pena (Miami, FL / Calusa Prep), senior Evan Brown (Ashburnham, MA / Bridgton Academy (ME)) and classmate Matt Forlow (Cold Spring, NY / Haldane) all singled to load up the bases with one out. Senior Jason Patnick (Hopewell, NJ / Hopewell Valley) followed with a sacrifice fly to plate Pena.

Seton Hall fought back to take a 3-1 lead with one run in the fourth and two in the fifth.

Down but not out, the Jaspers battled back to tie the game up at 3-3 in the sixth. Brown singled before reaching third on the play and would come around to score on a Forlow RBI hit. Manhattan would load the bases and freshman Dominic Palma (Hilton, NY / Hilton) plated Forlow with a sacirfice fly to bring the Jaspers even.

Over the next two innings, Manhattan stranded runners in scoring position before Seton Hall broke the game open with a four-run, two-out rally in the bottom of the eighth.

Junior Brendan Bisset (New City, NY / Don Bosco Prep (NJ)), Pena, Brown and Forlow combined to go 9-for-18 with three runs to pace the Jasper offense. Individually, Brown had four hits and Forlow three.

Cosgrove earned the no-decision, yielding three runs on five hits and two walks to go along with his aforementioned 12 strikeouts.

Four different Pirates had multiple-hits while Ryan Testani earned the win three scoreless innings of relief.
