NEW YORK – The Manhattan College men's and women's indoor track & field teams took part in the 110th edition of the prestigious NYRR Millrose Games at the New Balance Armory Track & Field Center on Saturday. The Jasper men and women were both entered in the Metropolitan 4x400 meter relay, while Manhattan also contested the men's distance medley relay.
In the women's Metropolitan 4x400 relay, the quartet of Mikeisha Kelly (Albany, NY), Kathy Cadet (Endicott, NY), Niasia Boone (Morrisville, PA) and Jasmine Davis (Ronkonkoma, NY) finished fourth in a time of 3:53.56. The men's Metropolitan 4x400 relay aired live on NBC, and Manhattan's foursome of Anthony Hall (Mountainville, NY), JP Merkler (Spring Lake, NJ), Stefan Hoeller (Bergisch Gladbach, Germany) and Akash Patel (Orlando, FL) took fifth in 3:25.44. Meanwhile, the Jaspers' team of Liam O'Brien (Clifton Park, NY), Wilmer Jovel (Closter, NY), Adam Alshoubeki (Monroe, NY) and John Dove (Monroe, NY) posted a time of 10:10.72 in the distance medley relay, which was good for fifth place.
Up next for the Jaspers is the annual Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Indoor Championships, which are scheduled for next Saturday and Sunday at the New Balance Armory Track & Field Center. Saturday will feature mostly preliminary heats, as well as a few field event finals, with Sunday's schedule consisting primarily of finals.
