Manhattan Drops 74-62 Decision To No. 22 Seton Hall

No. 22 Seton Hall defeated Manhattan by a 74-62 count at the Prudential Center in the non-conference finale for each team.
 

The Pirates improve to 11-2 while the Jaspers fall to 5-7 and will next open their 18-game MAAC season at Draddy Gymnasium on Saturday, December 30 against Fairfield with opening tip slated for 7:00 pm.

Senior Zane Waterman (Winston-Salem, NC / Fayetteville Academy) had a team-high 18 points with seven rebounds and was a perfect 7-for-7 from the line while classmate Calvin Crawford (Middletown, NY / St. Thomas More (CT)) had 10 points to lead the way on offense for Manhattan.

The Jaspers came roaring out of the games on offense, hitting on eight-of-11 and trailed 25-20 with 11:23 to play until halftime. Seton Hall responded with 13-straight points en route to opening up a 49-27 advantage at the half.  

Angel Delgado paced five double-digit scorers for the Pirates with 15 points and a game-high 18 rebounds.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Waterman was a perfect 7-for-7 from the line.
- Over his last last seven games, the North Carolina native is averaging a team-leading 12.4 ppg and 7.3 rpg while shooting 52.5 percent (31-of-59) from the floor.
- Manhattan shot 45.0 percent (9-of-20) from deep with nine steals and 19 forced turnovers.
- The Jaspers have now forced at least 15 miscues in 12 of their 16 games and continue to lead the MAAC with 15.8 forced turnovers per game.
- Manhattan's second unit outscored the Seton Hall bench by a 28-8 count.
- Sophomore Pauly Paulicap (Elmont, NY / Harcum College) pulled down a team-high eight rebounds to go along with six points and is averaging 9.3 ppg, 8.7 rpg and 3.0 bpg over his last three games.
