Manhattan Concludes Four-Match Homestand This Weekend

Manhattan (0-19; 0-7 MAAC) concludes a four-match homestand this weekend against Saint Peter's (0-19; 0-8 MAAC) and Rider (10-10; 4-4 MAAC).
 
Schedule:
Saint Peter's at Manhattan– Saturday, October 14 – 1:00 pm
Rider at Manhattan – Sunday, October 15 – 2:00 pm

Serving Hope
The Jaspers will host a Serving Hope match against Saint Peter's, in which fans can write a special note to those fighting breast cancer. The notes will then be distributed to those battling the perilous disease.

Alumni/Parent's Day Activities
Sunday's match against Rider will be Alumni & Parent Day with all fans invited to a pregame meal at Locke's Dining Hall (located on Thomas Hall (fourth floor), adjacent to Draddy Gym). Cost of the pregame meal is $7 at 11:00 am and can be paid for at the door. Following the event there will be a serve & pass at Draddy Gymnasium at 12:00 pm. Sarich will then hold the program's inaugural chalk talk in Alumni Hall room 200 from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm.

The Jaspers won both home matches against Saint Peter's and Rider a year ago.

Last Meeting With Saint Peter's
Junior Sandra Lozanova notched nine kills in leading Manhattan to a three-set win over Saint Peter's in the teams' last meeting by scores of 25-14, 25-12 and 25-16.
 
Last Meeting With Rider
Rider registered a 25-15, 25-16, 25-9 win over Manhattan in the teams' most recent match-up.

Three's Company
In Manhattan's four-set loss to Canisius, freshman Jade Jeffrey (12), senior Mary Donnelly (11) and Lozanova (11) all registered double-figures in kills. In the first 18 matches, the Jaspers registered double-figures on just six occasions.

Double-Double
Lozanova recorded a season-best 15 digs while Donnelly hit double-figures for the first time with 10 digs as each player notched their first double-double of the year.

Lindsey Lightning
Junior Zoe Lindsey also recorded her first double-double of the season against Canisius with a season-high 47 assists and 13 digs while adding five kills..

Top Marks
Jeffrey's 12 kills, on .417 hitting, against Canisius was a career-high while Donnelly's 11 kills was a season-best.

Lozanova Lighting It Up
Lozanova has registered double-figures in kills a team-best five times and is averaging a team-high 2.33 kills per set on the year while hitting a .220 clip.

Manhattan Season-Highs Against Canisius & Niagara
Canisius: 61 kills, 53 assists and 79 digs
Niagara: .341 hitting, 6 errors

Among The Leaders
- Junior Alyssa Rehrer is second in the MAAC with 4.46 digs per set and has registered double-figures in 15 matches, highlighted by a career-high 25 at Siena.
- Freshman Erin Hoener is second in the MAAC in hitting at .291 while Lozanova is eighth at .220.
- Hoener's 16 kills against Fairleigh Dickinson earlier this year are the most by a Jasper this season.

Manhattan will conclude non-conference play at Fairleigh Dickinson on Wednesday, October 18 with opening serve tabbed for 7:00 pm.
