Brooklyn, NY - LIU Brooklyn scored three times in the second half en route to posting a 4-1 win over Manhattan in non-conference action at the LIU Field.
The Blackbirds improve to 4-2-1 while the Jaspers fall to 0-5-1.
Defending NEC Champion LIU Brooklyn opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, only to see Manhattan answer in the 30th minute when senior Niels Kirch (Zülpich, Germany / Virginia Tech) found the back of the net off a pass from freshman Christoph Gums (Greifswald, Germany / Sportgymnasium Leipzig).
Unfortunately, the Blackbirds responded with three goals in just under 11 minutes after halftime in taking an insurmountable 4-1 advantage.
Sophomore Connor Hayes (El Dorado Hills, CA / Oak Ridge) followed up his first career shutout with a pair of saves in net.
