Results

SWARTHMORE, PA – A handful of distance runners from the Manhattan College men's track & field team headed to the Walter T. Skallerup, Jr. Track on Monday for the Swarthmore Final Qualifier.  The meet gave the Jaspers one last opportunity to race competitively during the outdoor season.

Amir Khaghani (Bethesda, MD) ran a personal-best time in the 5000 meters, finishing eighth in 14:40.34.  One day after competing in the final of the 1500 meters at the IC4A Championships, John Dove (Monroe, NY) took part in the 800 meters on Monday.  He notched a 1:54.31 clocking to place 22nd overall.  Tom Diliberto (Massapequa Park, NY), who also ran at the IC4A Championships in the 3000 meter steeplechase, recorded a time of 3:55.84 in the 1500 meters.  Nick Matson (Clifton Park, NY), meanwhile, took 15th in the steeplechase (9:29.50).

The Jaspers will now wait to see who qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary Round, which will take place in Jacksonville, FL, from May 26-28.  Only the top 48 athletes in the region in each event will be selected.
