Buffalo, NY - The Manhattan women's swimming & diving team finished the 2016 MAAC Championships eighth with a school-record 166 points following the fourth and final day of competition at the Flickinger Center.
The 166 points break the previous mark of 159.5 set at the 2006 MAAC Championships.
In the 1650-freestyle, the Jaspers placed three freshmen in the top-16 in earning 13 points. Kathryn Voitik (Moscow, Pa. / Scranton) took 10th in 17:58.93 while shattering the previous school-record. Freshman Abie DeLisio (Woodstock, N.Y. / Kingston) placed 12th in 18:21.09 with freshman Yvonne Corcoran (West Boylston, Mass. / West Boylston) earning 16th with a mark of 18:37.16.
Also scoring for Manhattan was the 400-free relay team of junior Sara Buckley (East Setauket, N.Y. / Ward Melville), freshman Morgan Fountain (Cheshire, Conn. / Cheshire), junior Patricia Colton (Washingtonville, N.Y. / Washingtonville) and sophomore Alexandra Hutzler (Miller Place, N.Y. / Miller Place) that took eighth in 3:42.90.
In th 100-free, Fountain paced the Jaspers, finishing 26th in 56.01.
Leading the way for Manhattan in the 200-back was freshman Megan Pagano (LaGrangeville, N.Y. / Arlington), who placed 26th in a team-best 56.01. Sophomore Audrey Corcoran (West Boylston, Mass. / West Boylston) clocked a team-best 2:35.21 in taking 18th in the 200-breast while freshman Yvonne Corcoran was 19th (2:35.67.
Rounding out the top finishers for the Jaspers was freshman Cassandra Rubino (Thiells, N.Y. / North Rockland), who placed 24th in the 200-butterfly in 2:21.48.
