Buffalo, NY - The Manhattan women's swimming & diving team is in eighth place with 72 points after day two of the 2016 MAAC Championships at the Flickinger Center.
Sophomore Alexandra Hutzler (Miller Place, N.Y. / Miller Place) led the way for Jaspers, placing 11th in the 200-IM in a time of 2:10.51 while freshman Klaudia Nagrabska (Belmont, Mass. / Belmont) clocked a personal-best 2:23.54 in the prelims.
Junior Sara Buckley (East Setauket, N.Y. / Ward Melville) was the top Manhattan finisher in the 50-free prelims, recording mark of 25:51 while freshman Morgan Fountain (Cheshire, Conn. / Cheshire) clocked a personal-best 25.76 with senior captain Michaela Schatz (Tuscan, Ariz. / Salpointe Catholic) also turning in a career-best mark of 26.23.
In the 500-free prelims, freshman Kathryn Voitik (Moscow, Pa. / Scranton) clocked a team-best 5:20.90 to round out the top individual performers for the Jaspers.
Concluding the day's action was the 200-freestyle relay team of Buckley, Fountain, junior Patricia Colton (Washingtonville, N.Y. / Washingtonville) and Voitik that placed eighth in 1:42.10.
Manhattan returns to action on Friday, February 12 at 10:00 am with the 400-IM.
