Riverdale, NY - Fordham scored two goals over just under eight minutes in the first half and never looked back en route to recording a 2-0 win over Manhattan at Gaelic Park in the Battle of the Bronx.
The Rams improve to 2-1 with their second-straight victory in the series while the Jaspers fall to 1-1.
After a relatively quiet 23 minutes of action Fordham opened the scoring when Carlie Wagner blasted a shot off of a rebound into the back of the net. The Rams then added the second goal of the match in the 32nd minute when Jessica Widmann headed a perfectly crossed ball from Nicoi Natale into the lower right corner of the goal to make it 2-0.
The Rams dominated the opening stanza to the tune of an 8-2 advantage in shots with freshman Nicole Copping (Rockville Centre, NY / Sacred Heart Academy) recording both shots.
After halftime, Manhattan picked up the pace and outshot the visitors by a 5-4 count while posting a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Copping recorded four of seven Jasper shots to lead the way on offense while senior Kristen Skonieczny (Lagrangeville, NY / Arlington) notched four saves in defeat.
Manhattan will now embark on a five-match road trip beginning on Sunday, August 30 at 2:00 pm against Hartford.
