SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Manhattan College outdoor track & field team was in action at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier at Swarthmore University's Clothier Field on Monday. For some, it was an opportunity to prepare for this weekend's ECAC/IC4A Championships, while it provided others with a chance to get one more meet under their belts this season.
Greg Perrier (Dix Hills, N.Y.) took seventh in the men's 800 meters with a 1:51.21 clocking. Meanwhile, in the men's 1500 meters, John Dove (Monroe, N.Y.) and Anthony Colasurdo (Lanoka Harbor, N.J.) both posted season-bests. Dove's time was 3:54.12, while Colasurdo, competing for the final time in a Manhattan uniform, finished in 3:55.41.
On the women's side, Nicole Mainente (Shirley, N.Y.) capped her Manhattan career with a 59.59-second clocking in the 400 meters. In the women's 800 meters, Kelly Gorman (South Amboy, N.J.) took 18th place overall in 2:16.18, while Kaitlyn Rose Smith (Effort, Pa.) registered a time of 2:19.29.
Manhattan's championship season continues this weekend with the annual ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Championships from Princeton University. Charlene Pohl (Bisingen, Germany) is in the heptathlon, which starts at 12 p.m. on Friday, and Stefan Hoeller (Bergisch Gladbach, Germany) has qualified in the decathlon, which gets underway at 1 p.m. on Friday. Competition resumes at 9 a.m. on Saturday and concludes on Sunday.
