BOSTON – On Sunday morning, Manhattan College Athletic Hall of Famer Jake Freeman participated in the men's weight throw at the USATF Indoor Track & Field Championships.  Freeman placed 14th in the event, posting a best effort of 19.55 meters (64 feet, 1¾ inches) at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Defending champion AG Kruger, a two-time Olympian in the hammer throw, won the competition with a toss of 23.41 m (76'9¾).  Freeman was the 2013 U.S. national champion in the event.

An eight-time All-American for the Jaspers, Freeman won the weight throw at the 2003 NCAA Indoor Championships and was the 2004 NCAA outdoor champion in the hammer throw.  He was inducted into the Manhattan College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014.
